Some recent figure studies from a live model. The numbers indicate how long the poses were. I used a mechanical pencil and Pantone Tria markers, because I wanted to force myself to simplify the interplay of light and shadow on the figure. 4×9″ rack cards made along with a similar poster for the Dia de los Muertos celebration at the Tacoma Art Museum, where I interned in 2008. I created the various illustrative elements in Illustrator, as I was working on mastering the software.

Pencil and Pantone Tria markers. This is the view from a friend’s apartment, which I sketched while I was cat-sitting. The view of the Sound is beyond my ability to capture.
